FIRE Highly flammable. Gives off toxic fumes in a fire.
NO open flames, NO sparks, and NO smoking.
AFFF, alcohol-resistant foam, powder, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Vapour/air mixtures are explosive.
Closed system, ventilation, explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting. Do NOT use compressed air for filling, discharging, or handling.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
STRICT HYGIENE!

  • INHALATION
    		• Weakness, confusion, cough, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath.
    		Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest, artificial respiration if indicated, refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• Redness, pain.
    		Protective gloves.
    		Remove contaminated clothes, rinse skin with plenty of water or shower, refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness, pain.
    		Safety goggles or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• See Inhalation.
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth, refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Evacuate danger area! Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible, absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place, do NOT wash away into sewer, do NOT let this chemical enter the environment (extra personal protection: self-contained breathing apparatus).

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
     COLOURLESS TO YELLOW LIQUID , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:
     The vapour is heavier than air and may travel along the ground; distant ignition possible.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes on burning or heating, producing highly toxic fumes (sulfur dioxide - see ICSC # 0074). Reacts with acids, bases, alkali metals, and strong oxidants.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
     TLV: 0.5 ppm; 1.8 mg/m3 (as TWA) (ACGIH 1992-1993)
    OSHA PEL: TWA 10 ppm (35 mg/m3)
    NIOSH REL: C 0.5 ppm (1.8 mg/m3) 15-minute

     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation.

    INHALATION RISK:
     A harmful contamination of the air can be reached very quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes, the skin, and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the thyroid. Exposure far above the OEL may cause effects on the nervous system and could cause lowering of consciousness.
