FIRE Flammable.

EXPLOSION Above 37°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Closed system, ventilation, explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting. Above 37°C use a closed system, ventilation, and explosion-proof electrical equipment.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS! STRICT HYGIENE!

  • INHALATION
    		• Burning sensation. Cough. Shortness of breath. Sore throat. Symptoms may be delayed (see Notes).
    		Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Refer for medical attention. See Notes.
  • SKIN
    		• Redness. Pain.
    		Protective clothing.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain.
    		Face shield.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• (further see Inhalation).
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Rest.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Eliminate all ignition sources. Collect leaking liquid in covered containers. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT wash away into sewer (extra personal protection: A filter respirator for organic vapours).
    		Fireproof. Separated from incompatible materials (see Chemical Dangers). Cool. Keep in the dark. Well closed. Store only if stabilized.

     Vapours are uninhibited and may polymerize, blocking vents.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance will polymerize violently due to warming under the influence of light, peroxides and reducing agents with fire or explosion hazard. Reacts violently with strong oxidants causing fire and explosion hazard.

    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and through the skin.

    INHALATION RISK:
     A harmful contamination of the air can be reached rather quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Inhalation of the substance may cause lung oedema (see Notes).

     Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization.

    N O T E S
    Other boiling points 138°C and 127°C. The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential. Immediate administration of an appropriate spray, by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered. An added stabilizer or inhibitor can influence the toxicological properties of this substance, consult an expert. Hydroquinone and hydroquinone ethyl ether are the commonly used stabilizers.
