PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Flammable.
NO open flames, NO sparks, and NO smoking.
Powder, AFFF, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Above 46°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 46°C use a closed system, ventilation, and explosion-proof electrical equipment.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE

  • INHALATION
  • Cough. Dizziness. Headache. Sore throat. Unconsciousness.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
  • Dry skin. Redness.
    Protective gloves.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
  • EYES
  • Redness. Pain.
    Safety goggles.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION

  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Rest. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Ventilation. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable metal containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in dry sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT wash away into sewer. (Extra personal protection: filter A for organic vapours).
    Fireproof.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
    TLV: 50 ppm; 234 mg/m3 (ACGIH 1995-1996).
    OSHA PEL: TWA 50 ppm (230 mg/m3)
    NIOSH REL: TWA 50 ppm (230 mg/m3)
    NIOSH IDLH: 1000 ppm

    ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour.

    INHALATION RISK:
A harmful contamination of the air can be reached rather quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the central nervous system. Exposure could cause lowering of consciousness.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis.
