FIRE Combustible.
NO open flames.
Powder, alcohol-resistant foam, water spray, carbon dioxide. Fire fighters should wear complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus.
EXPLOSION Above 60°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 60°C closed system, ventilation, and explosion-proof electrical equipment.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.

AVOID ALL CONTACT!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
  • INHALATION
    		• Cough. Dizziness. Headache. Nausea. Shortness of breath. Sore throat. Vomiting. Visual disturbance. Respiratory failure. Low blood pressure.
    		Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• MAY BE ABSORBED! (further see Inhalation).
    		Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain. Severe deep burns.
    		Safety goggles, face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• (further see Inhalation).
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place (extra personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus).
    		Separated from strong bases, oxidants, food and feedstuffs. Dry. Well closed.
    		Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
     COLOURLESS LIQUID , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes on heating or on burning producing toxic and corrosive gases (hydrogen chloride, phosgene). Reacts with water or steam to produce toxic fumes. Reacts violently with sodium hydroxide, ethylene diamine, chlorosulfonic acid and oxidants.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
     TLV: 1 ppm; 3.3 mg/m3 (as CEILING) (skin) (ACGIH 1992-1993).


    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and through the skin and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     A harmful contamination of the air can be reached very quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, kidneys and liver. Exposure may result in death. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.
